KIA  ORA!

Yesterday we did 3D printing, and first Zoe told us how to do it, and then she said, Go to the tables and start making the design, and we downloaded it from an app called https://www.vaka.co.nz/taong. You can do this too from this app if you want, but you need a 3D printer for that. I made it for my friends because I can’t give it to my family; they aren’t going to wear it, so that’s why I’m giving it to Charlotte so she can wear it. The pattern was poutama, and the symbol is mere. I feel really good when I make it, and that was fun to do. I want to make more than one, but we can only make one.

I really liked how you shared what the process was like when making your 3D printed taonga. It was cool that you chose to give it to your friend Charlotte, and your reason made me smile. The poutama pattern and mere shape are both really meaningful, and your photo helped show how creative your design was.

One thing you could work on next time is explaining a bit more about what those symbols mean and why they matched Charlotte.

If you could make a second taonga, who would you give it to and what shape would you choose?
